Tokyo Haneda Airport Guide

Haneda Airport (HND) is Tokyo's closest major airport, 15 km south of Tokyo Station in Ōta. It handled 85.9 million passengers in 2024 across three terminals — Terminals 1 and 2 for domestic flights and Terminal 3 for international services. This guide covers terminals, airlines, transport, parking and services at Haneda.

Terminals 1, 2 & 3

Terminal 1 (Japan Airlines, 29 gates, rooftop observation deck, opened 1993) and Terminal 2 (All Nippon Airways, 27 gates, opened 2004) handle domestic flights and are linked by an underground walkway. Terminal 3, the international terminal opened in 2010, has 20 gates — 71 gates with jet bridges in all, plus a free shuttle bus linking all three terminals landside.

Getting to Haneda

The Keikyu Airport Line and the Tokyo Monorail serve all three terminals, running to Shinagawa and Hamamatsuchō. Limousine buses link the airport to Tokyo Station, Shinjuku and Yokohama, and the Keisei Access Express reaches Narita in 93 minutes.

Airport Services & Amenities

Airline lounges operated by Japan Airlines, Cathay Pacific, ANA and Delta Air Lines, duty-free shopping, an on-site hotel (Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu in Terminal 2), a rooftop observation deck in Terminal 1, and five parkades marked P1 to P5. Overview of Tokyo Haneda Airport (RJTT)

About Tokyo Haneda Airport

Haneda opened in 1931 and is now Japan's busiest airport: 85.9 million passengers in 2024, third in the world. Four runways, three terminals and hubs for Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways — Terminal 3, the international terminal, opened in 2010 together with a fourth runway.

Always check the airport code on your ticket: Tokyo is served by two airports — HND (Haneda), 15 km south of Tokyo Station, and NRT (Narita). You can travel between them by Keisei Access Express in 93 minutes, but getting the wrong one can still cost you a missed flight.
