Baggage and customs at Haneda Airport (HND)
After landing at Haneda Airport, follow the signs for arrivals, immigration where applicable, baggage reclaim and customs. The exact route depends on whether your flight is domestic or international and on your arrival terminal.
Collecting checked baggage
- Check the airport information screens for your flight’s baggage carousel.
- Compare the baggage tag with your luggage before leaving the reclaim area.
- Keep your baggage tag and boarding pass until you have collected your belongings.
If your baggage is missing or damaged
Report the problem to your airline or its ground-handling representative as soon as possible, preferably before leaving the airport. Ask for a written reference and keep your baggage tag, boarding pass and receipts. The airline will advise you about tracing and claims.
Customs and restricted items
Japan’s customs rules and declarations depend on the goods you carry and the circumstances of your journey. Check current requirements with Japan Customs before travel, especially for cash, food, plants, animal products, medicines and commercial goods. Declare items when required and ask a customs officer if unsure.
